This Privacy Policy explains how reten ("reten", "we", "us") — a customer-retention analytics service for local businesses, operated from India and available at reten.in — collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use our website and app. By creating an account or using reten, you agree to this policy.
reten is a business tool. Our users are business owners and their staff ("you"). We also process data about your customers that you choose to bring into reten; for that data you are the owner/controller and reten acts as your processor (see section 5).
We email the address you enter when you create your reten account, and only after you submit the signup form and agree to this policy and our Terms. You can contact us at info@reten.in at any time to ask us to stop non-essential emails. We do not email purchased or third-party lists.
The customer data you bring into reten belongs to you. We use it only to provide the service to you — for example to calculate retention metrics and, at your instruction, to help you message your own customers. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to market reten to your customers.
We share data only with service providers that help us run reten, under confidentiality obligations: hosting and infrastructure (Render, Neon, Cloudflare), transactional email delivery (Brevo), payments (Razorpay), and messaging channels you enable (e.g. WhatsApp/SMS via Twilio). We may disclose information if required by law. We do not sell your personal information.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, then delete or anonymise it on request. We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls). No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
You can access, correct, export or delete your account data — email info@reten.in and we'll help. You can delete your account at any time, which removes your data subject to any legal retention we must observe.
You can have your data deleted at any time, in any of these ways:
We delete or irreversibly anonymise the data within 30 days of a verified request, except where we must retain limited records to meet a legal obligation. To request deletion of a specific customer's data that you brought into reten, email us and we will action it on your behalf.
We use only the essential storage needed to keep you signed in and run the app. We do not use advertising trackers.
We may update this policy; we'll change the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you. Continued use after an update means you accept it.
